A FIRM FOUNDATION FOR YOUR CHRISTIAN LIFE: Part 1: Introduction

Anything that is built, whether it's a tall building, a house and yes even your life needs to be built upon a strong and solid foundation if it is going to last and stand the test of time. Everyones life is filled with many trails, tribulations, difficulties and for Christians even persecution for their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Your life will only be able to remain standing strong after the trial has finished if it is built upon a solid foundation.

Having a strong and solid foundation isn’t just a good suggestion - it is an absolute essential!. You can’t have a strong life without having a strong foundation. The two are part and parcel. You cannot separate the two!

IT'S SIMPLY IMPOSSIBLE!

Jesus at the end of His Sermon On The Mount talks about the kind of foundation that is necessary for weathering the powerful and destructive storms that life will throw at God’s people as they are joining Christ on His mission. He uses a story to illustrate the kind of foundation that Christians need to have.

“Therefore, everyone who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain fell, the rivers rose, and the winds blew and pounded that house. Yet it didn’t collapse, because its foundation was on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mind and doesn’t act on them will be like a foolish man who built his house upon the sand. The rains fell, the rivers rose, the winds blew and pounded that house, and it collapsed. It collapsed with a great crash." Matthew 7:24-27

From this story and in the posts to follow we are going to learn lesson five lessons on laying a firm foundation  foundation from which to build a strong Christian life that can stand the test of any trial, tribulation or persecution you may encounter and three applications on how we are to build upon that foundation.  It's never too late to start building on the foundation that Jesus says is needed. You're never to old to get started and you're never to far gone to begin.
