The Bible tells us that those first followers of Christ devoted themselves to a few things. The Bible says in Acts 2:
"They were continually devoting themselvesto the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer."
It is in the area of being devoted to the apostles' teaching that we are focusing on. What was that teaching? What did those early Christians learn and obeyed that caused those ordinary christians to become fully devoted followers of Jesus that literally turned the world upside down?
It is my belief that there was a pattern, a standard, a core curriculum of teaching that every apostle taught to all new believers that would set them up to live strong spiritual lives.
This core teaching is best found in Colossians and Ephesians. Both of these books almost identically follow the exact same teaching in the exact same order. But we also find this pattern, standard and curriculum in 1 Peter.
So, if it is your sincerest desire to live a life for Christ that is powerful and strong, then this Bible study is for you. God bless you as you go through it.
