3 Ways To Pray With Boldness

The whole first part of Luke chapter 11 is all about different aspects of prayer.  In this post we are going to look at 3 ways that Christians can pray with boldness.  What does praying of boldness look like? How can you tell if someone is truly a bold prayer warrior?  Why is boldness in prayer important for a powerful missional life?

3 Specific Biblical Ways To Be Bold In Prayer

“So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened."  Luke 11: 9-10 (NIV)

1.  Keep On Asking God To Meet The Need

The first thing that Jesus teaches in these verses is to keep on asking God for whatever you need. Bold prayer warriors are tenacious and never quit with their prayers.

The promise that Christ gives to those who can be that persistent and tenacious in their prayer life is that their prayers will be answered.  How quickly do you give up on the prayers that you have brought before the Lord? Can you keep on asking, for years if needed, before you see your prayers answered?

2.  Keep On Seeking For God's Provision

A big part of prayer is not just the asking but also the seeking for God's answer! When we finish our prayers and say "Amen" the prayer isn't over - now comes the time when we need to look and see how God is answering. What provision is God providing to meet the need you prayed about?  To often we ask God to meet our needs but fail to look and thereby fail to get the provision God provided.

3. Keep On Knocking On The Door Of Opportunity

Many times to receive the provisions that God is providing requires us to take the initiative by knocking on some "doors of opportunity".  How do you know if God wants you to have a new job if you never send in your resume and apply for it?  Most of the time we must be willing to lay out some shoe leather and pound the ground before we can see God's provision.
